Over the weekend there have been some top quality clans that have chosen to drop out of the Clanbase Eurocup IV. First up, on Friday, were French clan ArmaTeam, who recently came 2nd and 3rd at the CPL London and Berlin events, respectively. Their drop out came after they had experienced connection problems in theur match against DkH.Secondly, AllStars have dropped out on Saturday due to 'player shortage' after top players Jerry and Vicon left the clan. This was a shame to be honest after AllStar had pulled off a great victory against MAFIA last mid-week.
Last but probably not least, GameOnLine(GoL) dropped out on Sunday, which was, I think, basically down to lack of commitment to the Eurocup IV. You can read a short interview about it over on onlinecenter:
We prioritize LAN events like CPL as first priority and simply dont have time to prepare ourself as we want b4 EC4 matches, so we decided to drop EC4 to put all our attention to pracc b4 CPL events.
So there you have it....three top clans gone. I think it's a sign of the times to see clans dropping out of online competition to concentrate on LAN events, that's where the future lies.
