As you may or may not know XSReality are doing live coverage of the World Cyber Games event, live as in..Sujoy and co are in Korea. Anyway, so far they've uploaded Monday and Tuesday event diaries and more recently a pic gallery containing loads of quality images of the location, players and general going ons."The ceremony was an immense presentation as we expected but the organisers decided to stick to the essentials this time and there were no performances apart from introduction speeches and video footage of players on the huge screens. The tournament hall is incredible - it's hard to work out the scale, but I'm sure you could fit a few football pitches in here without even worrying about hitting the ceiling with the ball. There were well over 1000 people watching the ceremony, and probably over 100 seperate camera crews all trying to get in a good angle (check the last few photos to see!). Also Korean TV was broadcasting everything live on the air. "See their full coverage section over on the site. There's a pic of the UK guys in there too...somewhere around the middle.
UPDATE: XSR have put up an interview with Xorgal from Swedish clan, Kompaniet. They also had an interview with UK Quake3 player, Blokey, who had this to say when asked about the CS competition:
"I heard the UK team set up in about 10 minutes and ended up sitting there for 3 hours. They still haven't played yet. I don't think many games got played yet, they're arguing about configs and what commands you can use and what needs to be default. The noc guys (UK) think they can do pretty well."[Ed: Although scheduled in for some games today, the nocturne.uk lads didn't actually get any gaming done today....tomorrow for sure.]
