TPF closes - A sad day for UK gaming

A sad day for UK LAN gaming, as The Playing Fields in London officially closed at 1pm today. This is a major shock to many gamers like myself who have visited TPF on more than one occasion. It is also a shame to see a LAN gaming centre that has hosted many of the top CS clans in the world such as CPL world championship winners NiP go the same way as many gaming ISPs have gone the past year.

No official announcement has been made yet as to why it closed down but grabbing this from the site, it seems clear expenditure was too high.

Well I will leave the story for my bosses (Edward and Charles) to post but for all those concerned, It's been fun and I have really enjoyed my time here.
Big shouts as always to everyone, Silent, Gimp, Smirny, Mock, Louis, Alky, Uzman, James, Peace-Disrupter, QED, DSX, Renegade, Duellist, N00beh, Q, RM, Moosh, Sujoy, Blokey, Rig, Marv (Bah), Vip, All the Ui and noc Crew and everyone else. Sorry if i missed anyone but you know who you are.
I expect... no no... I Insist that as many people get there ass over to the Feathers PUB TOMORROW WED 9th next to Warren St Tube. We will be there form 5pm onwards and upwards...
Everyone is welcome and I hope to see as amny of you as I can.
In the meantime please check back here as the website will continie to move along.

In our own small way we are trying to keep the LAN flag flying - LanZone might be small & out of the way, but we are still here (!)
