Half-Life Remote Console Beta Released

Posted by robe at 16:05 9/1/2002.

The Half-Life Remote Console (HLRC) Beta has been released and is available for free download at the HLRC site. HLRC is an excellent active admin and management system for Half-Life servers, and runs on both Windows and Linux.
The HLRC provides a platform for the development of plug-ins that can both react to game events, as well as submit commands to the game. In addition, the HLRC provides a user-friendly GUI for administrators to interact with the plug-ins.

The HLRC server talks to the Half-Life Dedicated Server (HLDS), and relays events and information to the HLRC client. The client displays game-related information for the user, and allows the user to send data back to the game server (RCON, weapon ban configuration, etc). Both the client and server use plug-ins to allow configurable management of the HLDS game server.
