Angel Munoz, as you know by now is the president and founder of the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL). He has been interviewed over at Cached.net.The interview covers mainly the contribution they will be giving to E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo). Here is an interesting sample taken from the interview:
Cached.net:In the forum you stated that the LA exhibition tournament would not be counter-strike or any other team game. Is there any particular reason why you're not having a team exhibition? Last year if I recall, several counter-strike teams competed in an exhibition match at the CPL Offices.Catch the full interview over here.Angel Munoz: Last year we held an invite tournament, this year it is an exhibition tournament. At an exhibition tournament the sponsors agree to finance the travel and accommodations for the invited gamers and the activities are geared to attract media attention. We believe this format is best served with a one-on-one tournament to reduce overall cost and simplify execution. The sponsors may require that participants use specific gear at the exhibition tourney, so people with peripheral sponsorship contracts will not be invited.
