On the 29th April the new Thrustworld clanbased ladder will launch. For some the very mention of a 'clanbase' may be off putting. However the introduction of some clever rules will make this competition a little more appealing.I grabbed this from the FAQ section:
Q: How does challenging work? This would seem to thwart the tactics of many clans in the clanbase ladder system. If that wasn't reason enough to sign up then the prizes certainly are. Every 3 months thrustworld will hand out £1000 to 1st placed clan, £500 to the second placed clan and £250 to the 3rd placed clan. The money will not only tempt the opportunist clans but will also be looking to bring the likes of Infinity-eSports and Nocturne back into organised online competition. Of course all competitors will have to be thrustworld members.A: You can only challenge people that are of higher or equal rank on the ladder. This is done in order to prevent people at the top from gaining easy points against those at the bottom.
Yet if that is STILL not enough to get you to sign up then this ought to be the icing on the cake:
The first 20 clans signed up, with signups starting on Monday, 15th AM, will recieve FREE accounts for players taking part in the ladder within the rules framework. Once your clan or team is signed up, you will have until the 28th April to get everyone in your clan signed to TW and tagged to your team, as on this date, i will be checking all teams in regards to eligibility and taking a snapshot of your team line up to make these players FREE account holders the next day...So why are you still waiting around here for?, head on over to Thrustworld and get signed up.

Online tournaments with prizes = silly
Online CS tourneys with prizes = ludicrous
What hope do we have when most of the "top" cs community turns a blind eye to cheating as long as its their "friend" etc. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

mTw were knocked out 2nd EC by a clan using cheats against them, that's why they didn't play the 3rd EC [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Most people in this community turn a blind eye when their "mates" get caught cheating. Its pretty ludicrous, some "pro" gamers used to cheat their asses off, yet they are respected now as if they have never done a thing wrong....
Community needs to sort itself [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Clan 2 can only challenge clan 1
Clan 1 cant challenge anyone.
Whats to stop clan 1 from getting to no.1 and doing diddly squat and claiming the cash ? accepting challenges from only those it can beat easily (ie not no.2) ?. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
