UK Gainward CPL Qualifier Seeding & Maps

The seeding and maps for the UK Gainward CPL Qualifier (The IT Centre, July 6) have been announced by The VGA and will be as follows:

The brackets and maps are available in this gif image. Sujoy tells us that they've also picked up a new sponsor in the form of Belkin to offer the competitors even more prizes:

"We've also picked up a new sponsor of the event to offer some more prizes! Belkin have stepped in to show off their Nostromo gaming peripherals and will have demonstration products on display throughout the competition. Gainward are still the title sponsors of the event."

This means the prizes on offer are now:

1st place - Flights (19 July to 26 July) and hotel accomodation (Hyatt Regency) for 5 players to Dallas paid for by the VGA, as well as an autoberth to the CPL Summer Championships 2002 finals. 5 * Nostromo n50 SpeedPad, 5 * Nostromo n30 Game Mouse, Belkin wireless networking equipment (Wireless USB Network Adapter and Wireless USB Network Adapter).
2nd place - 5 * Gainward Pro/650 GeForce4 Graphics cards, 5 * Nostromo n50 SpeedPad, 5 * Nostromo n30 Game Mouse.
3rd place - 5 * Nostromo n50 SpeedPad, 5 * Nostromo n30 Game Mouse.
Public Raffle - 5 * Nostromo n50 SpeedPad, 5 * Nostromo n30 Game Mouse.

It promises to be a good event for all concerned.

	Sujoy 14:45 4/7/2002	Belkin have just added some more prizes. 5 sets of their Nostromo mouse and speedpad gaming peripherals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place now as well as 5 more for raffle prizes. Also they're giving out some of their wireless networking equipment (Router + 2 USB terminals) to the winners, I believe 3 sets to be shared somehow between the 5 players. 	Sujoy 14:48 4/7/2002	The reason there are 16 places in the bracket is that I made up the double elimination bracket earlier in a standard format. What I will do for the tournament is place the Seeds 1-9 into the bracket and 10-16 are put in as BYE. If a team plays a BYE then the team obviously wins. If BYE plays BYE then BYE wins. Either way they were going to be 1 and 2 so they wont meet until the final anyway so it probably shouldnt make that much difference. CPL seeding is meant to be based on CPL points from previous events, other lans like local ones do not affect the seedings at proper cpl's, they really ps2002 results shouldnt have even been taken into account.
