BWCSL Week 2 Results

Posted by Fluke at 13:42 6/9/2002.

Rogue1 (BarrysWorld Counter-Strike League) has updated week two's fixtures page:
"All of the results from week 2 have now been posted. With an unusually high level of CO matches ending with genuine, non-defaulted 1 - 0 scorelines, I've marked out the defaults by putting their results in bold."
Also, over at the BWCSL forums Rogue1 has begun planning for the next season, with the inclusion of more clans a possibilty. Here's an excerpt:
"League size: Ideally, I'd like to expand a little again. This would probably mean 12 clan divisions, which would have obvious effects on the maplist, which I'll outline below. However, this will be entirely dependant upon the level of support we get from volunteer admins, so it's by no means certain."
Check out the full thread here, as always, feedback is always handy.

dNC v SO19 and ONE v 6K next tuesday, we'll have HLTV for at least one of them, if not both.

yay o/

btw - 12 clan divisions

that'll mean u can use a map cycle of the following, playing 5 of em twice and one of em once

Dust 2, Aztec, Train, Prodigy, Nuke (and cbble once)

that'll give clans a chance to revise tactics if they dont work out the first time, and will eliminate elements of luck in winning a map you would 99% of the time lose

^ cant really explain that last bit well :/ [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

im assuming u didn't read the forum post smittens, rogue1 suggests, if its a 12 clan division, using inferno, prodigy, dust2, cbble and nuke twice, and aztec once.

why are BWCSL considering putting de_clan2_fire in and not de_clan1_mill? Mill was played at CPL Dallas and will be at CPL Europe in Oslo, and Fire wasn't/isn't. So why choose Fire over Mill? [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

nerf: when I sent out mails to the division 1 clans asking what they wanted to do, I got the following response:

4 - no reply, so I assume not-bothered
1 - stay with piranesi
4 - either mill or fire
1 - fire

As such, fire allowed me to please at least 50% of the people who responded.

In addition, please remember that we *are not* the CPL. We're not necessarily bound to follow their map choices or to use the rules they specify. I choose the maps I do in the hope that they'll make the league as enjoyable as possible for players of all levels and not because they're what the CPL say we should be using. I'm aware that you don't have to follow the CPL, and your explanation makes sense, but imo any good competition should really be aiming to keep up with what the top tournaments are doing. It just struck me as odd that Fire was plucked seemingly (at the time) out of the air while the big name tourneys are using Mill and not that one.
It's a shame that your emails didnt get a bigger response. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
