Over at Blueyonder, signups have now closed for the online section of qualifiers for the World Cyber Games. Also, the map list has been announced. Here's the word from Blueyonder:Welcome to the World Cyber Games (UK) Counter Strike QualifiersAmongst the clans taking part are the newly reformed omg! and and the BWCSL division 1 clans erm:cs, SO19, 6K and FCC, as well as a host of other top clans.
The winner of this tournament will get to play at the final in Earls Court on Sunday 6 October and have the opportunity to win an all expenses paid trip to represent the UK at the Cyber World Games in Korea.
Sign ups are now closed, and the fixtures are finalised. No more sign ups can be accepted!
The maps to be played are as follows:
1st round - de_train
2nd round - de_cbble
3rd round - de_nuke
quarter finals - de_inferno
semi finals - de_aztec
final - de_dust2

I ain't really dissing anyone tbh. I agree that LAN winners should get priority, but presumably they had to make a call based on how many LAN events they wanted to run, and they figured they'd allow more people to attend a scheduled and (badly?) organised LAN, in preference to allowing the winners of those LANs an advantage over the online winner. If my clan were able to attend a LAN as well, it would be nonsensical not to do both when it increases your chances of getting a free trip to Korea :D [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
