CS Hitboxes - Weird?

Just a quick post here. Kimble from BLACKLiGHT just sent me this little demo which I thought I'd share with the rest of you. It shows just how poor the CS hitboxes are. Check it out

The game is f***ed, pure and simple. It has been since the netcode change, i think u can prove it is f***ed if u go onto blue yonder and hs some nubbin with a ak 20 times to have him long range spray u with a p90 and 11 ping, then watch his aim and watch him aim no where near u. 19:01, 9/2/2003 the problem lies in using hitboxes essentially based on cubes moving in curved paths when they animate, there is always going to be a gap problem.

Basically, the hpb see's whats going on first, and can "react" if u wanna call it that b4 the hpb even knows whats going on. If u can make that out, i will give u a biscuit. However a game like rtcw or ut2k3 is a server side game, so u send the info, they send it, and then the server works it out, does the math according to net code (and in quake/rtcw according to cl_timenudge aswell), and generally gets a even messurement, in fact it sometimes works to ure advantage, i have killed peaps when they run behind a wall (rtcw u cant shoot through em) and my bullet "catchs" them up on the server. Also u can trace bullets, so if u see a sniper fire, u can actually avoid it, + advantage of server side, u have to, say when sniping, shoot INFRONT, of the person, as if it was real life. It has it advantage, but unfortunatly/fortunatly, rtcw is a lpb game, isdn`ers suffer, because they get info slowly, they lag a good bit, but for hpb's and sub 100 pingers (128k isdn +) its generally great.
Ne way that may seem pointless, or explain some things. Rtcw hit boxes are better ne way. It does seem like CS makes up the hit boxes, depending on how cs/server is feeling :/ [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

omg servers do like flicking themselves off agreed, dosnt help when skanks use ex_lubricant 1 to grease them up either - stay off the config guys, keep clean, stay sober, keep it real. PEACE [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
