Just minutes ago OMG! lost their OpenCup semi final against SEL season 2 winners HLO. The game was most enjoyable, for those who don't know the details here is a report:OMG! Team - Dartagnan, m0rph, Craig, Sarge, BomThe game got underway just 20 minutes late and right from the offset looked like it was going to be a nail bitter. Both normal time halves were played on a UK server where OMG! had a 20 ping advantage. After De_Nuke the Clanbase admins became aware it was m0rph playing under the name omg!brorjace, Before the game however it was agreed between OMG! & HLO that m0rph could play so we thought there to be no problem. It took around 10 minutes to sort this out between all 3 parties (OMG!, HLO and the admins) and then it was concluded mr3 would we played on both maps already used to decide a winner. The game was also switched to a Swedish server. Here is the overtime break down:
HLO Team - Sui, MegatoN, Tiny, Magix, Goodfella
De_Dust 2: OMG! 13 - 11 HLO
De_Nuke: OMG! 11 - 13 HLO
Final Score: OMG! 24 - 24 HLO
De_Dust2: OMG! 0 - 6 HLOThis time there was a 50 ping difference in favour of HLO. Apart from the small bit of confusion there was good sportsmanship all round. Well-played OMG! who will now battle it out for 3rd place against the loser of the other semi-final.
De_Nuke: OMG! 1 - 1 HLO
Final Score: OMG! 1 - 7 HLOOverall Score: OMG! 25 - 31

Did you watch overtime at all Genics? You saw HLO with a LAN ping, which is how they play all their games. Usual CB matches are played with 1 match on each team's server, but I couldn't be expected to believe that a team would *not* take the advantage of low pings vs high pings and instead play with a higher ping throughout which is what HLO did - and all credit to them.
If you had played one map on each server the scoreline would have been massively different, on that Matrix server you'd have seen probably a 22-2 or some such score. Clearly you were jizzing yourself over Craig so much (this isn't intended as offence to you btw Craig, just pointing out that Genics is up your arse so far he could tickle your stomach) that you didn't notice all of HLO's bullets not registering, or the fact that throughout barring Clint's 35 ping and Craig's near-50 they had treble the pings.
I'm sure as a pro CSer like yourself Genics, who put on his omg tag halfway through the match, you should know what happens when you play on a server based 500+ miles away over a sea - pings don't necessarily reflect the lag on shots/the enhanced recoil you get. For a team who play LAN every day playing with 60+ lagping to the UK is a completely different experience, and would be disconcerting. Several times through the match you could see bullets not registering plainly for HLO, notably some AWP shots made by MegatoN/Sui.
Then we get onto overtime on the Matrix server. Oh dear. HLO become comfortable with their pings/recoil/register and start taking you to pieces, and it really had f*** all to do with HLO using inferior tactics or whatever. You as well as the whole CS community knows that had a map been played on Matrix's server omg! would have been absolutely raped.
Don't forget we're talking about HLO, a team who won SEL 2, beating esu in the final, beating teams like xP, gmpo and GoL on the way. Are omg at any of these teams' standard? Let's face it, you've never beaten 4K on LAN no matter how many lineups/times you play, and 4K would have one hell of a f***ing struggle to beat those teams. On LAN the match would just be f***ing funny, you'd have been torn apart. I'm not disrespecting the quality of your players (I actually only think DArt would be good enough for a league such as SEL), but you aren't at the same standard: you don't practise on LAN, your roster changes regularly, and you don't have as much experience all in all.
Do you think you'd beat esu too, Genics? Laugh. If you think otherwise you're quite clearly blinded by some unbridled passion for your team.
The only reason the match was drawn was because of the pings and s***ty register HLO had, and even Craig said that his register was better on Matrix's server. Playing on a server across a sea which has crap connectivity and is one of many servers running on an overcrowded box - fun! Or not. "Nuff respec'" to HLO for being such sportsmen, clearly they knew they'd have a disadvantage but thought omg's would be even bigger so agreed to 2 maps on that 4K gaming server. Never seen anything like it.
