ESWC UK Qualifiers Announced

That's right folks, the event which was regarded by many of the top players as the event to be at in 2003 is nearly upon us once more. In 2004 the ESWC will have a a $210,000.00 prize fund in the Grand Final. Just like last year there will be interactive attractions and all the usual sponsor booths. The UK will send a Counter-Strike clan, 2 WarCraft III players and 2 Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (PS2) players. Here's the information from the site:

The UK qualifier will be organized in two sections, regional qualifiers and the UK Final. The regional qualifiers will be held at 8 gaming centres around the country. With the top 2 CS teams and the top 2 WC players from each qualifying venue will be invited to the UK final. The top 16 CS Teams and the top 16 WC players will battle to prove the top CS team in the UK and the best 2 WC players which will be flown to France for the international final. A PES knockout competition will be run at the UK Final where up to 128 competitors will battle out to find the top 2 players, which will be flown to the international final in France with the other qualifiers.

Game Friontier will host the qualifiers in 8 different gaming centres around the country with the top 16 Counter-Strike clans and the top 16 WarCraft III players offered free accommodation in Sheffield and the chance to compete for the honour of representing the UK at the world finals. The actual qualification finals will take place on the 12th and 13th of June at the Magna Science Adventure Park (www.visitmagna.co.uk) in Sheffield.
