Yesterday afternoon 4Kings competed in their second group stage game, of this final 8 Group Stage at the WEG championships in Korea. After dispatching wNv the previous day on de_inferno, 4Kings were set to take on GamerCo on de_train. With less than 24hours between the game, and the teams failing to return to the hotel until 1am the previous day, a 10am start left no time for either teams to practice or warmup and no-one seemed pleased about it.
Results for Day 2 of GroupStage 2 were as follows:
4Kings [13] vs [10]
GamerCo
Map: de_train4Kings Lineup: Mangiacapra, Goodfella, Red`, aKujii, elemeNt
GamerCo: exodus, Ph33R, Hanes, DarK, MasTeRnoOk
This loss puts GamerCo out of the tournament, and after the game there was much controversy surrounding the match. During proceedings WEG admins issued a warning to 4K^Red` concerning speaking while dead. Red` was pulled up for calling "lower ramp" while dead, but on review of video evidence it was clear to see his screen was still in fade time when this call was made, yet the admins allowed the call to stand. As such 4K are now one warning away from tournament disqualification. Controversy continued to mount up as Hanes from GamerCo lodged a complaint for a flashbug on 4Kings Tside 5th round. Hanes alleged a flash had been throw that bugged the entire CT middle area on de_train, reviews of HLTV demos ensued but no flashbugs could be identified. GamerCo continued their dispute in a highly vociferous manner, resulting in some serious tension developing between the two teams at certain points.
Other results from yesterday also made interesting reading, with Begrip overcoming Astralis on dust2, CatchGamer defeating Pentagram, and AbitStrike emerging victorious over wNv for the first time in Chinese counter-strike history. As the groups stand right now it looks like 4Kings and AbitStrike will make it out of their group, with Begrip and CatchGamer advancing from the second group. With Begrip vs Catch still to come, the outcome will decide who 4Kings plays in the semi finals best of 3 match.
