Counter Strike Interviews

Over at Stomped the first of a three part series of Interviews with the co-creators of Counter-Strike, Gooseman and Cliffe, has been released. The interview delves into their gaming past, moding history and how one of todays most popular modifications came about:

Stomped: When did you first want to actually create mods for games?

Gooseman: I started 3 years ago with the Quake1 engine. I was hooked at the start. The thing that drew me into making mods was the amount of freedom it offered me. To be able to make something that was tailor made to my own personal tastes. That's something a lot of us dream of but sadly not all of us have the opportunity to do that. Real life sometimes gets in the way of a person's ability to dedicate the greater part of 3 years to working on freeware mods.

Cliffe: I got really interested in Action Quake2, because it was interesting that a user made mod could be more fun than the original game it's based on. I knew Suislide and Cail back then and gradually worked my way into doing web site stuff for them.
