Clanbase Update

Clanbase has really been hotting up lately, with most of its competitions headlining many major Counter-Strike news sites across Europe. As you know, last night was an awesome night for UK CS as 4 of our top teams battled it out in just two of the many competitions Clanbase holds. Here is a round-up of the different competitions and the various positions our teams find themselves in.

We will start with the Euro Cup. Now in its 8^th season, this competition still manages to draw the top European Counter-Strike teams. ONE and 4K were chosen from the UK to participate and were drawn in the same group, Group A. Last night the two battled out a draw, keeping both in with a chance of qualifying. Earlier today, French team aAa decided to leave the group due to them having problems with their Internet Café sponsor. This now means that the next opposition for our two representatives is the Spanish number 1 team DkS. First up 4K, who, next week,get the chance to continue their good form. ONE follow the week after and will be looking to better their draw against 4K with a sound victory. The next games for both teams are crucial because in the last week they will face the other two teams (KoA and aL) who are also after qualification.

Division 1 of the Open Cup also has two UK representatives who battled out draws last night against decent opposition. OMG! have one game left in their group and look certain to qualify, next up for them is Romanian team v-eS sometime next week. Last Chance have picked up one victory and two draws in their first attempt at this competition and need to win against group leaders EFFKULT on Sunday night to be certain of progression.

Division 2 of the Open Cup is somewhat behind schedule with the groups not even been decided yet, however we do know which UK teams will be taking part. What is noticeable from the list below is the absence of teams such as iM and Dist. However, we do have some good and well-known clans taking part in the competition. Here is the list: 5-Miracles, Hertz, 69 Kilobytes, Fight Club Clan, CS-Marines, Unbound, VETS, SCEE, resonance, twisted reality, The Feared.uk and SO19. The competition will hopefully start shortly.
