Being on the CPL press list certainly has its perks. One of them is receiving the latest news from the CPL before everyone else. Sadly my spam filter broke so you can all read the 4 press releases the CPL sent out today.
The CPL has opened registration for it's CPL Summer event for 48 more hours to add any more teams changes.
Although the CPL will not allow additional transfers of tournament or BYOC spots, teams wanting to add new members to their rosters are allowed to register online - but only for the next 48 hours. Register right away at http://www.thecpl.com/register/
Next Nvidia have released details of all their events at this CPL, to cut a long release short, it's a lot. The highlights might include the free giveaways or the How to Go Pro Workshop.
Friday 7/30 at 10:00pm - "How to Go Pro Workshop": Hear from Craig Levine of ESEA/Team 3D on what to look out for when starting your own team...from incorporation and legal matters to pitching new sponsors. Also hear from NVIDIA on what sponsors look for when considering sponsorships.
Corsair Memory have teamed up ABit to feature their solutions as part of an Overclocking workshop at the event. A snippet of which i'm going to post simply for the humourous number of acronyms.
In particular, the ABIT-Corsair booth will feature the latest of the fabled MAX series motherboards, the Intel 925x based ABIT AA8-3rd eye, featuring the GuruClock™, and the next-generation 667Mhz Corsair DDR 2 XMS2 Pro Series memory; the entire system will be overclocked to an insane 250Mhz FSB! There will also be live demos of other high performance Corsair memory and ABIT gaming motherboards, including the must have AA8-DuraMax, AG8-3rd eye and AV8-3rd eye.
Finally the CPL have completed the sponsor-covered cake with an unhealthy topping of 'door prizes' to give away from all competitors that attend.
Atari will give away copies of Neverwinter Nights and Gothic 2. Buka has provided 20 T-shirts featuring the Russian game maker. CDV USA has furnished a variety of game-related merchandise, including: four Breed backpacks, three Breed hats sporting the USC logo, three Breed T-shirts and four copies of Breed; eight American Conquest T-shirts and four copies of American Conquest; nine No Man's Land pens; and five copies of Cossacks Anthology. Game peripheral manufacturer CH Products has supplied one Combat Stick, one Pro Pedal USB...
All in all it looks like this could be quite a large event, sadly none of this news will make a difference to the majority of you this time around, yet still with two UK teams in attendance for the first time ever this will be quite an exciting event to follow.
