It has been a quiet couple of weeks for the newly formed NiP-Gaming side. Since their split with SK-Gaming we have waited for further information regarding their future plans, current status, and member information. This week has seen a flurry of news on all accounts. Firstly, NiP-Gaming unveiled their new website, sadly everything aside from the main news page is still under construction. Still a step forward for the side though.
We’ll keep track of the best teams in the world for you, we’ll make monthly follow ups on events and leagues in each major e-sport country. We’ll gather those must-see POV-demos for you, rank them and tell you what players are hot and what players are not. We’ll give you the deepest analyzes and the most intelligent conclusions. We’ll offer you the most exclusive interviews and the most intimate comments from the world’s greatest Counter-strike stars. We’ll put everything in its right context, and we’ll make the twisting and twirling e-sport world seem orderly and understandable. We’ll make it easy for you, but without compromising with the thrills. We will also bring you coverages that aren’t as dead as Elvis and news updates as soon as we hear about something worthy of your attention. I said it before, but there’s no way it’ll be worn out; we are here to be the best.
Secondly Ninjas in Pyjamas also unveiled their newest addition to the ranks, CPL Summer 2004 and Winter 2004 runner-up Vilden from Eyeballers.
We are really happy to announce the recruit of Christian “vilden” Lidström. After being a faithful member to Team Eyeballers for a really long time, Christian saw the chance to develop both as a player and a person together with us in Ninjas in Pyjamas. We have been close friends with Christian for quite a while now and not is he only one of the best handlers of the AWP, he will also be the one to lead our squad to victory together with Daniel “Hyper” Kuusisto.Together they will create conditions conducive to a peaceful development within the team when it comes to developing tactics and creating new opportunities.
Following this announcement it quickly dawned upon everyone that NiP-Gaming now had 7 supposedly active members. Who would sit out? was a member going inactive? ESLive soon broke the news that 25 yr old NiP member Pott1 had decided to retire from active gaming. News that many other websites quickly posted as fact without checking the sources. ESLive quickly apologised for the error and stated that infact no official announcement regarding Pott1's retirement had been made. At present NiP-Gaming have yet to declare whether there will be any retirements or changes to their current 7-man team. In their Vilden departure statement Eyeballers promised that they would be announcing a new "superstar player" as his replacement shortly.
Following on from a momentous few days for NiP, Steelpad also announced they would continue their support for the team despite switching from the established SK organisation. The team will receive a continued package of support from Steelpad, as mentioned by Danny N Ramkvist in their press anouncement :
Ninjas in Pyjamas is a team that has all opportunities on the sponsor-front, and they will not play with anything but the best! As HeatoN once said; “Do NOT compromise with your gear, your play or your tactics. Do NOT let fate decide - you CAN make a difference by focusing on every detail while gaming. It works for me!!!” HeatoN and the Ninjas in Pyjamas will be playing with the Steelpad S&S and the Icemat 2nd Edition mouse pads as well as the Icemat Siberia headset. When travelling to events, the Ninjas in Pyjamas will listen to their favourite music on the Icemat Audio Mp3 Player.

i dont really mind what NiP do as to be frank theres a whole scene behind the public one and if something has gone wrong, theyr better off without the player even if he might be technically better [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

I also think that a lot of people can't accept the whole "out with the old, in with the new" thing we have going on. There is still plenty of decent teams/players around, sadly a lot of them have tarnished there reputations from the time when they used to disband 46 teams times a week, cheat or just be plain grade A t**ts. Take Cortex for example, no one can deny them [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
