New Security Modules...

Posted by Blitz at 00:24 8/10/2002.

Eric Smith sends word that VALVe have, once again, updated the VAC security modules:
"We've updated the public security modules again. These security modules will detect the most recent versions of Joolz (2.2, 2.22, and 2.30).

Your Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers should update themselves automatically. Let me know if you have any problems with these security modules and we'll look into them right away."
Update: An update has been sent out by Eric Smith stating that they have been receiving mails from people who have had trouble with the above update. As a result, the security modules have been rolled back...here's the lowdown:
"We've had several reports of problems with the public security modules we released a couple hours ago. We've reverted the public security modules to the previous public versions.

We'll make sure that anyone who was falsely detected during this period isn't banned from secure servers for 24 hours.

Thanks to everyone who reported the problems so quickly. We appreciate it.
