With all the hype of the UKT LAN which is taking place later this month and also the clanbase cup's announcements a few pieces of small news have been overlooked. Here they are:

Erik Johnson from VALVE has been quoted again. This time saying that VAC (the VALVE anti-cheat) will be updated soon. Here is what was said:
Hi, everyone. Just a quick note to let you know that things are beginning to happen again. If everything goes well, we'll be rolling out the first VAC release for the steam beta [Thursday or Friday] (if not tomorrow, probably on Friday).
The anti-cheat functionality of this first release will be identical to that of the existing 1.5 modules, but we'll be activating the new ban list. The new ban list will feature an escalating ban period: the first time a given user cheats, they'll only be banned for 24 hours, but subsequent infractions will increase the penalty (so that by your 10th infraction, you'll be banned for a month at a time.

The_Family_God (maker of Milita 2 ) has released another movie, this time we are brought 'The making of Militia 2'. It is a movie about, that’s right you guessed it, the making of militia 2 and contains things like bloopers and errors which occured when the film was in development.
In US clan news, top teams NetZone(Forsaken) and RiotSquad have merged. From what was reported on CSNation I understand that NetZone will be no more and have folded whilst their players that have joined up with RiotSquad will play under the clans new name of rs.nTz.

	Havors 11:12 10/2/2003	The fact that they are still using a near ten year old engine goes to show valve lack the qualities needed to sort the cheating problem. They wont make an completely new engine coz they cant. Why you think they pass everything on to other companies? They are amatuers who got lucky with a game using some elses engine! They are affraid of losing the playability of CS so they just bring out useless anti cheat progs and even when it does catch a cheat they are allowed back the next day! gg valve. glad i got that off my chest! ;) [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
