I've apologised several times over for not being able to be there but hey, real life comes first i'm sure many of you would agree...Although probably not seeing as most of you live on here... We dont often get news concerning the ladies arena and as such when we do get it, it makes a nice change to post it. and mat i never once mentioned them as the "top" UK CS team. the 4k tag of 4k.fe carries a brand dominance in as much as people assume they are the best being part of the 4k franchise. Which is a fair point, considering a clan which are seeded in the middle could get an easy ride and turn up with all the clan members from OMG, ONE or 4k. I actually asked Myers about that, there was a time when northampton was meant to have been cancelled for qualifiers, so i asked Rich if we could just be the 1 team that went and get the qualifier spot. But he said no, cause that's against the rules and in th event that happened a 2nd team would get the spot from another qualifier event. 	jaff 13:09 12/9/2003	Come on people, there's no need to be so harsh. Yeah, we're not as good as most teams. We're not pretending that we are. Just because we have the 4k tag, it shouldn't affect you. All it should mean to you is that you know where you can find us. The tag is good for us in a number of ways, and also bad for us, but don't assume that we think we're something that we're not. We have lots of room to improve, and that we shall do. WCG was a good experience for us, even if we have been used as a marketing tool. Look at it this way. Yes, making a big deal out of girls playing games could be considered shallow etc, or pointless. I almost agree. But raising public awareness of gaming, in any way, can only really be good for it in the long run. And _using_ females is the simplest way to do it. We partook in the WCG-sponsored media activities because it was FUN. Simple as that... it was all there for us so we took it. It wasn't because we're soemthign special, and noone ever pretended it was. We're humble but it doesn't mean we're not hungry to improve. And i'm disgusted at any comment which uses our gender as confirmation that we are akin to some 15 year old slag from some s***ty estate with a baby already. 	hinch 13:24 12/9/2003	strange my (ex)girlfriend (sal to anyone who knows her) was part of 4k.fe when they were ^X^ she was one of the clan starters when they left from PMT i think it was. there was lots of different b***hing etc around between all the ladies and it turned out that a few of their players always had been male. besides the point though they were not good certainly not players of any serious skill. their so called best player at the time and the only person of the team who gave me a run for my money later admitted to being norty cheater. now all well and good i 4k wanted a female team however there are many many better all female clans out there than ^X^ part of the only reason they got to being so well known and hence noticed by X was the amount of spamming and putting it about on irc they did [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

Which is a fair point, considering a clan which are seeded in the middle could get an easy ride and turn up with all the clan members from OMG, ONE or 4k. 	jaff 13:09 12/9/2003	Come on people, there's no need to be so harsh. Yeah, we're not as good as most teams. We're not pretending that we are. Just because we have the 4k tag, it shouldn't affect you. All it should mean to you is that you know where you can find us. The tag is good for us in a number of ways, and also bad for us, but don't assume that we think we're something that we're not. We have lots of room to improve, and that we shall do. WCG was a good experience for us, even if we have been used as a marketing tool. Look at it this way. Yes, making a big deal out of girls playing games could be considered shallow etc, or pointless. I almost agree. But raising public awareness of gaming, in any way, can only really be good for it in the long run. And _using_ females is the simplest way to do it. We partook in the WCG-sponsored media activities because it was FUN. Simple as that... it was all there for us so we took it. It wasn't because we're soemthign special, and noone ever pretended it was. We're humble but it doesn't mean we're not hungry to improve. And i'm disgusted at any comment which uses our gender as confirmation that we are akin to some 15 year old slag from some s***ty estate with a baby already. 	hinch 13:24 12/9/2003	strange my (ex)girlfriend (sal to anyone who knows her) was part of 4k.fe when they were ^X^ she was one of the clan starters when they left from PMT i think it was. there was lots of different b***hing etc around between all the ladies and it turned out that a few of their players always had been male. besides the point though they were not good certainly not players of any serious skill. their so called best player at the time and the only person of the team who gave me a run for my money later admitted to being norty cheater. now all well and good i 4k wanted a female team however there are many many better all female clans out there than ^X^ part of the only reason they got to being so well known and hence noticed by X was the amount of spamming and putting it about on irc they did [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
