UK/IE Cup In Despair: WOLF and Game2XS depart

ukiecup2The UK/IE CS Cup, started its season with 136 accepted British and Irish CS teams in March. After three rounds of knock out qualifiers, a five week groupstage, and two playoff rounds, the LAN Finals are nearly upon us.

The tension and hopes on a outstanding UK/IE Cup LAN Finals event were rising, also having in mind last weekend's ESWC.uk event at which the top three seeded teams of the UK/IE Cup LAN Finals (Four Kings, WOLF, Game2XS) all performed well and finished as last three (Game2XS and WOLF surprising by beating TAG and Four Kings twice, respectively) at the event.

The UK/IE Cup organisation was shocked however, when late last night we received word that both WOLF and Game2XS (seeded 2nd and 3rd, respectively) see themselves forced to drop out because of financial reasons, saying "we spent all our money at ESWC and cant afford anymore to attend".

This comes as a huge blow to the competition and everyone will realise this will take out much of the competition for the title, as Four Kings, who (as told by Mangiacapra) were utterly determined to take revenge on WOLF, now seem to be heading for an easy run.

The UK/IE Cup does a call upon the attending teams and the whole community to, if possible, look into solutions providing these two teams shared travel and/or stay for the sake of the event and the future of the competition.

The event will proceed, if no solutions for Game2XS and WOLF can be found, short notice replacements for the two withdrawing teams will be searched for today. Based on the LAN experience of the replacing teams, seedings might be redone.

i'll take some of the WOLF /G2XS boys to Macclesfield and back for free if it helps - just to see a good tourney, i'm based in South London and have an uber fast car - so if you can communicate this offer to them, and let me know their thoughts - that'd be great. I can take 4 + myself, and I take it that this is just for the Sunday correct? Bl!nder

If that helps in some way.. Rav0r (game2xs), kae and keiju are from the London area afaik.

Also i would like to do a call on members of the community living near Manchester/Macclesfield and being in the ability to optionally host players at their houses (the night over from Saturday to Sunday) to contact me in #ukcup.
