Here is part of the statement at the UK/IE Cup II site:

Our ambitions and expectations are higher this time around, and although we are aware that the first UK/IE Cup was a great success (due mainly to the fact that we gained a massive amount of support from the community) we are now looking forward to the next step.

Sponsoring
Our main sponsor this season is 4u-servers, who have most generously provided us with two dedicated boxes which we will use for CS servers and HLTV proxies. Due to this fact we are certain of quality performance and overall decent match coverage.

Prizes and LAN Finals
Like last season the UK/IE Cup is backed with prizes for its winners: 4u-servers provides several very nice prizes for the top3 (gameservers, vouchers, comms, bncs), so-elite provides 1GB webhosting for the winner, des1gn are offering a complete clan website design.
Even with these fantastic prizes, with which we are over the moon, we are still looking to generate more sponsors and prizes for the winning teams. We are confident we will be able to succeed in this through word that LAN based finals for the second season UK/IE Counter-Strike Cup are most probable this year. After having had some very constructive preliminary talks with several leading UK LAN (centres), who offered to host the Finals for free this LAN based final outlook is fast becoming an ever appetising idea.

Tournament Layout
The tournament layout this time around will be slightly different from last seasons. Instead of hosting two group stages, we will now be holding seeded qualifiers for teams not auto berthed into the group stage, giving an even larger amount of British and Irish teams a chance to prove themselves and make the group stage even more intense.

Sign ups
The UK/IE Cup signups will open today, and will remain open for two weeks, to give every self respecting decent British or Irish clan the opportunity to set up their team and apply at the Cup page when ready (only clanleaders and 'trustees' can do so). For those of you who are new to playing in a Clanbase Cup, I have written a small guide to help you through, which can be found at the Cup site.
