UK/IE Cup: 16th Finals End

The UK/IE CS Cup, which aims to stand out both as online and LAN event in the United Kingdom and Ireland, started its season with 136 accepted British and Irish CS teams. After three rounds of qualifiers and a five week groupstage, this weekend the UK/IE Cup finishes its first out of two online knockout rounds before the LAN Finals, a round which hosts teams ranked 2nd in the groupstage playing teams ranked 3rd.

The final two matches of the 16th finals are on schedule for tonight:

Monday's Matches

9pm	suiGeneris	25	23	BLACKLiGHT	inferno / train	#ukiecup.1
9.30pm	SCEE	16	27	euthanasia	inferno / train	#ukiecup.2

suiGeneris is the only Irish team left in the Cup and were destined to win their Group untill Choke denied that in the very last Groupmatch. Blacklight have been struggling thus far in their UK/IE Cup campaign, ended 3rd in their Group behind zebras and remOte (to which both they lost).

Spectators will be able to enjoy the sG-i: game to the fullest, which is predicted to be a close one. In addition to the HLTV and scorebot coverage, TsN will be looking to cast this match, either directly after the CSGN Premier match they're casting tonight, or with a second casting crew.

The last official clash between SCEE and euthanasia was in the lower bracket final of the UniCon: We Got Rythm II LAN event, a match which was won 13-7 by euth on de_train, the second of the two maps which are on schedule for tonight. SCEE have hired new talent since this last match though, one of which being Savace who joined them the other day, and will seek revenge.

The fixtures for the last online playoff round, the 8th finals (mill/nuke), which sees the eight Groupwinners clash against the successors of the 16th finals, are drawn and announced this Tuesday at 9pm in #ukcup.
