CPL Spain getting under way

This weekend, the second CPL world tour stop is taking place in Barcelona, Spain. As well as the main Painkiller event a Counter-Strike tournament is being held with some of the worlds best teams in attendance. It should prove to be an interesting event, as the legendary NiP will be competing for the first time since their return along with teams like mibr, SK and complexity all looking to take home the top prize of €10,000.

An open tournament was held yesterday, with four spots alongside the twelve invited teams in the main tournament up for grabs. Wings, GoodGame, g3x and Hostile eventually qualified. This leaves the final seedings as follows:

These seeds will make for some interesting early matchups in the first round, which will be on de_train:

NiP vs Alliance
mibr vs Hostile
Wings 16 - 11 Team3D
g3x vs x6tence
Astralis vs GoodGame
MouseSports 16 - 14 Catch-Gamer

As you can see, unlike larger events there should be a lot of intense and close games from the start, with some good teams being knocked into the lower bracket early on. Games are getting under way now, but unfortunately the event is having internet problems (shocker) so there is no HLTV or scorebots available yet. However, if and when the problems are solved HLTV.org will be providing HLTV for the games.

	Hotshot Choke 12:15 1/5/2005	to everyone moaning about UKT do something about it. if you love the site, fix it. its as simple as that, if your going to moan about the problem but not take ample opportunity to be part of the solution you deserve to get crappy coverage. UKCT appears to be written by a spastic monkey with one arm and a vague concept of grammar. Take from that what you will but if this site is going to approach anything close to its former majesty it needs one or two of you to get off your fat arses and do something about it im sick of reading about this. The old newsposter crew have all moved onto real life, university, final year exams and so on and so forth and as such we dont do much or anything anymore. so it's time for you lot to put up or shut up. p.s GO CPL WT Spain!
