CSGN LAN Finals

 | Today, the CSGN League, UK's no.1 league, hosts its season five finals on LAN at UniCon in Manchester. After months of play it is now up to the final eight teams to prove who's worthy to be crowned CSGN Season V Champions. |
Today sees the CSGN Season 5 LAN Finals and selected teams from the CSGN League will be heading on down to Manchester to battle it out for the title of CSGN Season 5 Winners. The structure of the LAN can be read about below and seen in the screenshot. The structure is as follows; there will be 8 teams in attendance, split into 2 groups. These groups will be labelled Blue and Green for the simple purpose of differentiating between them. Each team will play every other team in their group once on one the following maps: de_dust2, de_cpl_mill, de_nuke, de_cbble with mr12 round time 2:00. This is so we have time to complete the LAN event. All rounds will be played since rounds scored will count towards the final mini group/league standings. As for the knockout stages it will be either mr12 or m15 depending on the feelings on the teams competing. The round time will be adjusted accordingly. The maps for the knock out are de_train, de_inferno, de_nuke.
These standings will then be used as rankings for the single elimination knock out. Why have group stages I hear you asking and no double elimination? Basically this way all clans are guaranteed 4 games each (assuming there are no problems and they arrive on time), plus it allows “LAN rankings” to prevail over online ones. The winner from the Blue-Group will play the 4th (last) place from the Green-Group and the 3rd place Blue-Group will play the 2nd place Green-Group in one half of the quarter-finals. In the other half we have Blue-Group 2nd place vs Green-Group 3rd place and Blue-Group 4th place playing Green-Group 1st place. From here its single elimination with semi finals and finals as one would expect. Simple fact is that ImG's first team that. I played them and saw some right dodgy stuff on nuke. It's nuke however, everything can be put down to luck. However I can imagine them on nuke at this lan. Hardly anything hitting through walls.
LAN always adds weight to a teams legitimacy imo. Specially when its not a mix but their lineup online. They should have no worries about tactics and teamplay and skill. All the things they rely on online. Yeah they're doing s*** in CSGN. However they got the online league win they so wanted, when the attention rose, they went s***.

we were planning to attend if we ever got a invite which didn't happen for one reason or another - choose to believe me or not :] who im i to argue.
I'll only ever go to LAN to play with my teamates who i enjoy playing cs with, if i didnt i wouldnt play as at the end of the day its a computer game which by the looks of it some of you forget :], i wouldnt go to prove a point to some folk who have absolutely no control over what i do.
