Yesterday, Ligarena announced their plans for the Grand Final of the second Electronic Sports World Cup. It will take place between Tuesday 6th July and Sunday 11th July 2004, and will be held in its previous location at Futuroscope, France. During the six day event competitors will battle for more than $200,000 cash prizes.
These competitions will involve national preliminaries all around the world from February to June 2004. The winners of these preliminaries will earn their trip for the Grand Final.
More information regarding the specific arrangements for the event and national preliminaries will be available in February, but the full confirmation press release can be found here.
Last year, zEx lost in the final to the then Team[9] (now Adren[GX]) after first eliminating Schroet Kommando from the competition. Could there be another upset for SK? Judging by their current form it seems unlikely, but what’s to stop another zEx ending SK.Sweden's current unbeaten record.
