You can never go a game without a cheat in there, a 10year old threatening you with your life via coms or some ponce TKing you at spawn. BY servers were never fun and never will be. I feel that when i call someone a 'f****t' on a server that they should take it like a man or in a rare case - woman, instead of running off to an admin and wasting their time trying to get me banned. Its actually one of the few groups of servers in Europe which are administrated properly - not to mention succesfully. TK on there and your likely to be banned for a good while. 	Grom^ 10:57 8/5/2003	is this on BY Myers? except for the most blatant cheats we have to get three admins agreeing that someone cheats, and if there is dissension then we often need more than that. i accept it's possible we could have got it wrong, although unlikely. Is there anyone in particular you think was wrongly banned? And yes there are different standards on BY servers for things like swearing and abuse, and admin discretion does cause disparities between how incidents are handled by different admins. However you have players like jobbie who I've never seen do anything wrong on any server, and other people who just seem to think the rules don't apply to them. What I'm trying to say is some people have a real problem with not behaving like a prat on any server they are on, and I don't think public players want to play with people like that, no matter how good at cs they are. It led me to believe that perhaps the admins were looking for cheaters rather than spotting them. [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
	Grom^ 11:27 8/5/2003	a lot of times I might pop on a server to see who someone with an abnormally high score is, or just check out their aliases instead. It's good to check though without knowing who someone is and judge if they are/aren't cheating. 90% of the time the guy is clean and often when flicking through the other players I will see some really s*** player with an aimbot. Cunning wallhackers are tougher to spot. BLinky wasn't hard to spot but I still took a whole map's demo and asked for confirms before I banned him. Most bans on BY are still team killing and team wounding. Best things to do are always apologise, don't retaliate and don't muck around with your friends by teamkilling each other... as it's quite common for that to result in a ban, remember even killing a friend can unbalance a team and ruin a round. Most admins will reduce your ban if you ask politely... o and be warned, spotting is against the rules on BY, and new policy is a 2-4 week ban for spotting with permanent ban for second offence. It's hard enough to spot the really canny wallhackers without people on LAN or teamspeak muddying the waters. [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
	fez 15:01 8/5/2003	have to say by is still my prefered place to play. especially by7. altho the standard there isnt always that high u do tend to see a couple of good players on there from time to time. admining there is also quite good, accidently twed some1 on by7 the other day. every round from then on this player tw/tked me :/ changed my name to admin_needed and a couple or rounds later an admined joined and kicked/banned the player. thumbs up :) [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
