Rules and format for the UK's only Counter-Strike WAN competition, the iGUK Counter-Strike 1.6 Cup have now gone live, as well as signups themselves. Here's the official statement.
Yes it's back, Counter-Strike has returned to iGUK shores. Unfortunately plans to host a Counter-Strike Source League have been postponed as a result of poor server-side software, instead iGUK will be hosting a 5 week tournament throughout October. You can now register for this competition. Signups close on Thursday 23rd September. Friendlies will take place Sunday 26th September. This competition is restricted to one team per centre.
This competition follows a breakthrough in negotiations with Valve that have provided IGUK Gaming Centres the ability to now install a legal version of Steam in their venues.
If you would like to take part then head down to your local centre and try out for the house team. Early favourites for the competition include former champions GlobalGaming Arena from Birmingham and Newcastle's CyberGamesZone.
