News at the moment is incredibly thin, thus the real challenge is to spread it as far as possible. UKT fan favourite, Midway, reports on the latest map to make the CAL playlist. The creators of de_contra asked Midway for his assistance in creating a map ideal for competitive play.

The map forces both sides to consider tons of possibilities. One of the first glaring problems a person sees is the sheer number of entrances into each bombsite. Bombsite B alone has four entrances while Bombsite A matches with another five entrances. That’s a lot for any CT team to cover, but upon further review, that’s not the case.One entrance for each site is through the CT spawn, two down - seven remaining. Now the middle of the map that overlooks a dried out riverbed can control two more entrances if a player(s) can avoid being picked - five remaining. Finally, four of those entrances are only big enough for one or maybe two players to enter through allowing flashes and smokes to dominate.
Now if you’re reading this and haven’t seen the map your probably thinking, jesus this must be CT sided. Actually it’s probably Terrorist favored according to play and most people’s estimation. Action; reaction - strategies from each team begin drooling now.
Whilst CAL have already adopted the map, it will be important for the map to be played in European competitions if it is to become a standard CS map for clan games. History has thus far condemned the majority of non-official CS maps into forgotten junkyardom, will contra fare any better? I urge you all to at least give it a try or read Midway's full report.

Train, awful. Absolutely awful.
Aztec's more worthy of clan games in its current version but n@rby felt the need to remove visibility options and the like which has left aztec as largely a public map.
Fire, please...

fire is ridiculously bad, especially for T stuff, can do some stuff as CT but as T its just go to this chokepoint or that one
good maps to play & make strats IMO are (in order) nuke, inferno, train, dust2, mill, cbble (takes a lot of practice to can play it properly but I like it anyway) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Fire is a good map. Lots of posibility for the Ts to do fakes and rushes.
