Since departing the considerably more successful shores of SK-Gaming, the reformed "all-star" Ninjas in Pyjamas line-up have failed to impress on the international stage. For a team with the a title of the world's most successful CS clan to live up to they have found life difficult with poor performances (by their standards) at various national qualifiers and events such as Rixhack and CPL Spain have left many feeling that a roster shake up was in order.
Today NiP-Gaming announced that Vilden, Hyper, Spawn and ahl have left the side due to "their lack of interest and motivation when it comes to practising and also due to their poor results during the latest events NiP has participated."
On a positive note long-serving member and former CPL MVP Potti has returned as a full-time member whilst HeatoN will also stay on at the side.
Peter Hedlund (NiP CEO) & HeatoN give their respective quotes on the changes.
Peter Hedlund - "For us it's all about performance, performance, performance. We have seen an increase in lack of motivation so something had to be done. Because of the hard competition in e-sport nowadays our players have to focus to 110% when it comes to practice schedules and matches. This is not for fun, playing Counter-Strike is their job and it has to be taken as seriously as any other job. No one playing for NiP should ever feel confident in his/her position. It's all about performance individually as well as a team."
Heaton - "It's kind of sad when things like this happen but as always there are lots of other players available out there who can take the empty spots in the team and as Peter says this is our job and it has to be taken very seriously, otherwise we can never be the #1 team in the world."
Things are changing, that's for sure, with some of the world's greatest players now clanless big questions will determine the future. Will departed 4 recruit another and stick together? Or will the NoA's, mibr's, SK-Gaming's, Team3D's attempt swoop in and lure these gaming legends into their collective with financial offers?
