As most of you are aware, the eagerly awaited STEAM 2.0 has been released tonight. The STEAM system this time comes bundled with the beta version of CS 1.6. As you have seen on every CS news site over the past few days there are a number of changes in the upcoming release. To test them out and play on the beta version of CS 1.6 download STEAM 2.0 here.*UPDATE* STEAM 2.0 has been suspended due to the fact the file was leaked before it's intended release. I'm sure Valve will fix the bandwith issues soon (currently taking up the whole 500 megabit).
*UPDATE* Working link added, Steam still suspended.

Note: Seems the Steam site jumped the gun a bit early on the linkage, and that 5PM CST (6PM EST) is the official start time for the beta. We're not quite sure if what's been going around is leaked or legit, as the SteamPowered site has it available.
DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING TO WORK UNTIL 5PM CST OR LATER! [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Valve sends word that their Steam Pipe is running at capacity, and for the moment, admission to the new Counter-Strike beta has been suspended:
Steam Beta 2.0 Admission Suspended
The Counter-Strike and Team Fortress communities have maxed out the Steam 2.0 beta servers, resulting in the temporarily suspension of admission to the beta as more content servers are put online. The current Steam content servers offer over 500 megabits of bandwidth, all of which the community is consuming right now.
Anyone interested in hosting a Steam content server should email biz@steampowered.com. (Content server requirements can be found at www.steampowered.com.) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
