You will remember us posting about UltimateArena.com, the site where you play for money, a few weeks ago. Well earlier today they have taken this a step further.
First of all they have completed the upgrade to 1.6 and all the games are now running the latest version of Counter-Strike. I could not find any ruling on the use of the shield though.
Secondly, they have announced a $10,000 online tournament. The exact details of this tournament has not yet been released. All we know is that its a clan based tournament and will have a $10,000 prize. Whether or not this is the total prize purse or whether its simply $10,000 for the winner remains to be seen.
Let's hope they go about it the right way (invite only tournament?) to ensure that the people who do win, deserve it.

Huh? Whoever wins it, whether it's team-noob or SK, will deserve to win it cos they'll have beaten the other teams. I'm sure that's not what you meant though. :) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

£10000 is alot of cash for an online Tournament, at UberWorld we gave away £1000 worth of prizes at our last online comp, and we thought that was a bit much. I can only see one team winning the cash tho - 3D.
I imagine CD will be run on the servers, as United Admins are taking money from ultimate arena. Will United Admins have a new version of CD just for this tournament to make it watertight of cheats? I mean CD doesnt work at the moment. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
