The only people against its use are the people who cant use it for s*, kinda like the AWP. 	Atemi ForsakeN 00:11 16/9/2003	at least if u hit some who has an awp, then you kill them, you can pound sum1 with a shield with 4 clips of ak, fire as many awp bullets at him as u want and u wont do any damage wot so ever, and then all they have to do is take aim while ur shooting him to s*** and when u reload he just right clicks shoots ya head and ya dead. the upcoming uk CB cup looks like they are going to ban the shield which im pleased bout, hopefully other leagues will take notice and follow suit. 	Slider` eSports.Edge 00:28 16/9/2003	oh my... u could moan about the fact that in reality 1 bullet from a glock would kill u, but it doesnt in cs - counter-strike aims to realistic as possible, but obviously its gonna fall short on some occasions. Just imagine if u gave the shield AP, id just spray the guy down until it wore away the AP and killed him. Making the shield able to take unlimited damage adds a new approach. If it did have a didicated number number of armour points it would most certainly be a waste of $2000, or whatever stupid price it has been put up to since 1.6 beta (where it was about $1000) [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

	Atemi ForsakeN 00:41 16/9/2003	yeah fair enuff cs as a whole aint realisitc. but dunno how to explain it but its like the game has its own set of rules in that it take more bullets to kill sum1 with a weaker gun, the shield just totally breaks the rule and unbalances the game. it takes lots of glock bullets to kill sum1, then less with a colt then even less with an awp, and the awp goes thru walls, blast doors and armoured vehicles so quite how they can then put a f***ing shield in and make it invincible just doesnt fit in with the current set of rules which apply to guns and their strength to damage opponents. 	shads theb0g 02:44 16/9/2003	<LATE NIGHT BORED TIRED ESSAY ALERT> i dont hate the shield because it makes u basically invincible, i hate it because it kills action, u turn a corner, see a ct, ur reactions & aim >>>>>>> his, but what shows from it ? nothing, so u just walk around waiting half an hour for him to drop his guard, coz lets be honest a half decent player with a shield controls the 1v1s entirely and the ball is always in their court from a t's POV, every time i turn a corner and i see a ct with a shield, i get instantly bored, bored bored and bored, theres no challenge, theres no adrenaline rush for trying to get the kill, theres no POINT to having fast reactions or brilliant aim, and there certainly aint any f***ing excitement in it shield de_stroys the action & skill that FPS is entirely based apon, they need to make it so u cant have a gun with the shield, that way it can be used tactically by clever people and still be very worthwhile in the right hands with excellent teamplay, but it wont completely unbalance the skill of cs in return. the shield seems to have meant to bring out the "teamplay" aspect u imagine from swat teams, but instead it does seem to reinforce the "rambo" element - being that if only 1 ct buys a shield, that ct is almost always the last ct alive and the one that has the most likelyhood to kill anything (yes, buying awp may be the strongest/best gun in the game, but someone with way more skill and a usp could kill more on an eco than u do with an awp, with the shield that is totally taken away because u need no skill at all to use it, if u see my point), shield+nogun would ensure u could only use it for tactical teamplay which is surely what it was intended for in the first place, and would at least stand a chance of opening up doors for more fun/exciting! tactics i really dont think that making it so DE/AWP bullets went thru the shield would have any point at all, it wouldn't balance the shield, it'd just make it completely unbalanced against all the other weapons (as it is now) but make the AWP/DE completely unbalanced against IT, defeating the point of changing it entirely. basically, the shield was meant to bring out more tactical teamplay, yet has just given people an easy way to rambo it up and i reckon they should get rid of carrying a gun, that way it can only be used for tactics, will rarely ever be used in publics (thank god) but could open up interesting ideas for clan wars if ure bored enough to actually be clever and think about using it id rather have the shield take skill & challenging tactics to use but rarely ever see it used at all let alone properly (especially on publics), than have anything remotely near what its like atm and btw does anyone else think that the new t "machine gun rifle wannabe thing" is just the old mp5, kinda defeating the point of the mp5 havin been balanced throughout the past versions of cs. 	AndersSchm 10:56 16/9/2003	Personally I think Valve have been watching Time Commanders too much while working on 1.6. I think it will also affect future CS development. They should have called the shield a "Pavise" and coupled with it a crossbow. 1.7 they could then replace the AWP with a trebuchet you setup at spawn. 1.8 all the rifles are replaced with polearms, smg's with swords and pistols with pitchforks... The shield ROCKs in my opinion.. its just what the game needed to give it a little exra life.. Moving cover is gonna make such a difference to gameplay tactics... I only wish T's could buy it.. because they are the ones that do the rushing.. I've noticed that when they run sideways you kind of see their legs but can't shoot at them. I think you should be able to shoot any part of the body available.
