It's been a great season, with some early teething problems due to moving to Pay To Play and HLTV problems, but after the first week or two it settled into the normal routine. Thanks to EVERY clan and player who took part.
The majority expected Last Chance to take the division 1 title this season and this they did. Decisive victories in the majority of their matches carried them to victory; however a surprise defeat by GLTC in their penultimate match raised questions as to whether their form would be good enough to beat Optical Illusion. As if answering their doubters they finished the season with a 13 - 1 win against their rivals to take the crown.
Optical Illusion's season was also a notable one. They defeated all clans they faced until meeting Last Chance in the final game, in which their unbeaten streak was broken. However a strong runners up performance from O:i none the less.
Kensai, PK and GLTC all had high points and low points in their season which keep them in the middle of Division 1. GLTC were awarded one of the fair play awards for their behaviour this season.
Zero-G went AWOL towards the end of the season securing their relegation from the division.
This was the most competitive division this season. The Incarnate and TCSUK drew in week one. And both lost a match to a lower team leaving them tied for the division championship Both teams continued undefeated until weak 5 where The Incarnate lost to a strong showing from UNBD on de_prodigy.
It looked like TCSUK had gained the upper hand, only to stumble the following week to SODA on de_inferno. UNBD were also a strong contender, losing only to TCSUK early in the season and they looked like running off with the division title with their win over The Incarnate, sadly it was not to be with a surprising loss to Pro in week 6.
All in all a very close season with lots of clans delivering upsets. MB and SODA took the 4th and 5th spots with MiNg-UK and Pro being relegated. I think both clans will do well in Division 3 and will end up in the prize or promotion playoffs next Season.
If two clans tie for the championship then the clan that won when they faced is declared the winner. In this case the clans had tied each other, so a playoff was played in week 9, The Incarnate had obviously done their groundwork, with a 13-1 victory to take the division title and the automatic promotion berth.
Not many people would have suggested Apocalypse 2000 (Now known as Warped Reality) as division 2 blue champions at the start of the season, including themselves. However nobody has been able to best them in their division and they finished as champions with maximum points. It will be interesting to see if expectations can once again be broken in division 1 next season.
DH also had a strong season in this division winning at all instances except against the unstoppable a2k. Their presence in the promotion playoffs gave us one of the tensest games all season when after drawing 12-12 they sadly lost 21-18 after extra time to TCSUK. After such a showing they will be hungry to win promotion next season and should be a clan to watch.
GIR, Spirited and e-sys all fought hard and threatened but were unable to achieve anything more than retaining their division 2 status for next season.
Ketamine and e.pwn both ended up relegated. Ketamine looked dangerous at the start of the season but apparent membership troubles have forced them to both default and play without a full complement of players at times.
Harmless stomped every other clan underfoot to win this division with maximum points. Their closest game was against runners up SWANT ending 13-9. SWANT performed well only losing to their divisions champions. The rest of the field was pretty flat, with the 3rd clan losing 2 games, and the 4th clan losing 3 games. CSE, tbz and Hooligans rounded out the bottom of the table with the withdrawn SECT coveting the relegation spot. It really didnt matter who won the lower skilled games and there were no surprise victories.
This division was close among the top 3. BFTD and LBS had won all their games untill they met in week 5, where the result was a hard fought draw. pp at this point were looking strong, having only lost to BFTD.
LBS and pp met in week 7 to decide who was going to the playoffs, and in an exciting match pp took the win. LBS should be strong contenders for a promotion next season and I think they will make the playoffs at least.
cK proved a cut above the other contenders and finished 4th. cr4p, [bsq], and MAWR finish equal 5th, and In[SaNe] are relegated. I think In[SaNe] are the c[h]ikara of this division, finish at the bottom, but giving every single match a close finish.
They took 10 rounds againt LBS and 7 against BFTD, but they just couldnt win their other games. I think they will easily win Division 4 next season, and I hope to see them do well again in Division 3.
Division 3 blue, home of the eventual division 3 prize playoff champions Elevation.uk, has one clan drop out leaving seven clans to compete for the honours.
It ended up as a two horse race between Elevation.uk and eTm. Elevation appeared that they might slip up when they played The Marines but kept going and triumphed after defeating eTm in the last game of the season.
From this they also went on to be overall division 3 winners in the prize playoff. Elevation.uk should be strong contenders next season in division 2.
The Marine's performance this season gives promise for next season in division 3. They have pushed a bit closer to division 2 with some strong displays in this division including a near upset against Elevation.
Not much separated TG and CIX this season, holding up the middle of the table they won some victories but were unable to put on a convincing enough display to edge them towards promotion.
TCUK and VI were the unfortunates ending up at the bottom of their division but stay in division 3 to fight another day, TCUK were victors when these two clans met.
Division 3 green was probably the most unfortunate division this season and sustained a very high initial dropout rate. Fortunately some of these clans were replaced but only 5 clans ended up playing in this division.
Neo put themselves foremost among the five that remained. Not looking threatened by the other clans in their division they were undefeated in their league matches.
Riotgear always seemed to be playing second fiddle to Neo this season, however they played well and secured a playoff position.
MMX found they were unable to compete with Neo or Riotgear for the promotion chances but still put in a strong showing in their other games. 5SI and UOcUK appeared to struggle somewhat, all of their points coming from default wins apart from the 1 point they earned when they drew with each other.
There were some entertaining moments this season in division 4 and good spirited play with no clans dropping out and a small number of no-shows.
Defy Logic put themselves ahead of the pack early on and didn't let up on their victories. Romping through each team in the division they end up as final champions and owners of a well deserved slot in division 3 next season.
Team Ducks were notable for their good attitudes this season and were talked about as potential fair play award winners. This is not to say there performance was not a good one - in fact they kept on the heels of Defy Logic all season before facing them in the deciding game with only 3 players. Despite the offer of being able to wait for their team to arrive they sportingly decided to play without them and effectively forfeit the chance of winning a prize.
KEA and D1UK were strong performers in this league, KEA winning 5 of their matches and D1UK winning 4 to see off nearby rivals aWe for the final promotion slot. All of these clans should have fun competing in division 3 next season.
As well as aWe who were pipped at the post for promotion, there were Antihd, PUK and ISS who managed to win a game a piece but could not compete against the stronger clans in the division. Perhaps next season with the promotion of those clans, the opportunity for these clans to shine will arise.
The Playoffs were a great success and provided some exciting games. The map to be played was de_clan1_mill, which isnt widely played in the UK. It does however feature in the CPL and several european leagues, and is an excellent map.
First up the Division 2 Prize Playoffs. This pitted the winners of each Division 2 against each other for some shiny new graphics cards. The winners taking home Geforce4 Ti 4200's and the runners up taking home the cheaper MX 440 variants.
The Incarnate vs a2k ( now called Warped Reality ) looked like an exciting match.
Unfortunately it failed to deliver as a2k got stomped on with a 13-3 scoreline. Both clans will feature in Division 1 next season so good luck boys.
The promotion playoff between the runners up in their respective Division 2 was completely the contrary. The match was a nailbiter and finished 12-12. This meant the game went into overtime and lasted nearly 2 hours. TCSUK was the victor however, and the result was 21-18 to TCSUK. You have to feel sorry for Disposable Hero's though, losing in overtime. They will however be very strong contenders for winning next season, unless one of the moveups from Division 3 can give them a challenge
The Division 3 prize playoffs were not very exciting. In the semi-finals Elevation.uk beat Harmless 13-3 and Neo beat BFTD 13-2. The final was between NEO and elevation and it looked like being an entertaining match. Elevation.uk won the first half 8-4, with Neo winning the pistol round. Neo made a promising start in the second half by winning the pistol round, and lost to an eco'ing elevation.uk
Neo managed to claw a round back but Elevation.uk proved too strong in the end.
All the winners of their divisions (Elevation.uk, Neo, Harmless and BFTD), will feature in Division 2 next season. The question was, who was going to join them?
The runners up playoffs provided some exciting moments.
RiotGear vs pp was a very exciting match, going down to the final round, which RiotGear won to earn promotion. Enter The Matrix vs SWANT also proved to be a promising playoff. eTm won the pistol round, and in the crucial 4th round a member of eTm went extremely clutch and won a 1v3 and defused. This kept SWANT out of the game untill later in the half when they took two rounds in a row to finish 2-10.
SWANT needed to win the pistol round to stay in the match, unfortunately it didnt go their way and eTm proved too strong, winning 13-2. This means that RiotGear and Enter the Matrix will be among the new faces in Division 2 next season.

Being in S7, Spirited 7 in div2 blue, i think that the season worked well, but i think the joining to the server thing needs working on. When we played DH i didnt connect till the 8th round, and its really a pain doing all the logging in etc. It would be better done on passwords to the server.
BWCSL is well run, and p2p certainly makes the game more competitive. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
