The MP5 Navy SMG is one of the most popular and best weapons in CS. You know why?
As I mentioned earlier, the recoil of the MP5 Navy is minimal. This allows a certain margin of error. A lot of newbies tend to empty a full magazine at an enemy. By doing this your success rate will be decent, but not optimal. If you shoot in two or three bullet bursts, you'll have a much better chance of killing your foe!
At short range (also known as CQB - Close Quarter Battle) a shoot-out may end in just a few seconds, making aiming and skills all the more critical. Shooting in bursts gives you a better chance of killing your foe. Sometimes I even manage to kill my enemy with just two shots. In saying that, you may have to resort to full auto, depending on how close your enemy is.
So next time you see an enemy pop up in front of you, don't panic. Just try to grab a few shots and you might find your foe lying motionless on the floor.
This is what the newbies do: The moment they see an enemy pop up, they'll shoot like a madman as if that the enemy is just a few feet in front of them. They might manage to get a shot or two on their foe, but the moment they start to reload, the enemy takes a little time to aim. And in just 2 or 3 shots, BANG!!! they're dead.
Whenever you come across a medium range combat, it's good to check what weapon your foe has (don't waste too much time on that though). If he's holding a weapon like a sniper rifle, take a quick aim and shoot in four to five bullet bursts, moving as much as possible. But if your enemy has something similar to your weapon, just take a little more time to aim and use the above method. Even if you didn’t kill your foe with these shots, it might immobilise him and you should take this chance to get a little closer to him and kill!
In Medium Range Combat, never ever empty a full magazine at an enemy on full auto because the success rate won't be as high as you'd like. If you shoot in bursts it will be higher, so always stay calm and have confidence in your aim.
When I first started to play CS, the moment I got into long range fire fights, I always grumble: "I should've bought a sniper. The enemy is too far away, I can't kill him." And then slowly I practiced and practiced and as they say, 'practice makes perfect'. Now, long-range firefights are as easy as pie... if you know how.
The secret behind this is that in this type of situation, stealth can be very important. If you can see him but he can’t see you, then, slowly take your aim shoot in three to four shot bursts. Although he will be alerted by the sound, it'll take him time to figure out where you are. So, continue your assault and watch him dying.
What is the ideal place for a long range fight? First, identify a place that has cover nearby. From there try to use bursts (again) against your enemy, and keep quite mobile. When you need to reload duck in behind the cover, but be quick. A well placed HE or flashbang grenade can come in handy if you need some extra cover. Use the above method and you'll definitely get a few kills!
Before I go on, I would like to warn you that jumping and strafing will affect your aim.
Crouching is a very effective method to get a sharpened aim. If possible, you should crouch to increase the accuracy of your shots. In the case of the MP5 you'll probably be involved in more close/medium range fights than anything, but the larger the distance the more it will pay off when you crouch.
Jumping is not really a good method to adopt whilst shooting at your enemy because you can’t get a good aim when you're up and down like a yoyo. It will however, reduce the chance of your enemy landing each bullet in you. The accuracy of sub-machine guns is severely affected whilst jumping.
Strafing is also another method which affects your aim. It is only useful when you are trying to kill your foe but also protecting yourself, limiting his accuracy on you. When used with burst fire and cover, strafing can be very effective.
This is a very very useful method no matter in what situation you are. But it is recommended that you master the MP5 Navy first. When you see an enemy, quickly crouch and aim for his chest. Grab 2 shots on his chest and move the crosshair up to his head. BANG!! There goes a kill. This method is very effective because it can be used in any situation. So, keep shooting.

As for me I buy mp5 only then I have no money for AK47 or M4A1 - I think that is the REAL weapon(core rifleman).

In close combat TMP rulezzz!!! Cause of very fast rate of fire and 3 bullets in his head is enough to take him out!
On the medium ranges MP5 is weak and chance to blow his head is very small. I always take rifles, if it is not enough money then DEagle & TMP(MAC-10).
On the long ranges MP5 sucks!!!

i also discovered that in medium range, using MP5 Navy at full auto is possible to shoot the enemy... but of course you have to aim the crosshair properly.
but i will NEVER EVER use MP5 navy at long range.. i will only use pistols, like USP, deagle. and they work well!!! i only use MP5 Navy at short and medium range. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

and how did he did it? he straft around while shooting at me in close range. but of course.. do not ever straft at medium or long range!
and um.. i tried this trick before.. i could work on several people... at close range attack with MP5.... i usually squat and shoot full auto at the enemy.. and it work; provided that the enemy doesn't strafts around.....
here's the reason... the enemy weapon's crosshair will always move up... and by squating.. the enemy has a difficult time aiming at you and handling the recoil.
attacking tips: if you know that there is an enemy hiding behind a box or something... do not shoot yet.. u will alert him. so always have flashbang and a HE with u.. what you do is to throw 2 flashbangs... then if you have the time.. throw a HE at the enemy, then quickly rush towards the enemy blinded by the flashbang and shoot him down. Nah...i self taight with this gun, and noone hits me if they have a rifle at close/medium ever.
Just strafe...and jump...with 10 bullets (if your close) whip out your usp/deagle...run out, the extra 10 is deadly, cos they dont expect it.
You can't stealth with the MP5..well not where i play =)

if you buy a mp5 you should also buy a deagle(even though the eagle pops up a lot it is very accurate)i say buy the deagle cause when you run out of clips with your mp5 and you dont want your enemy going behind a box to realod just bring out your deagle and if you aim for his chest he will be dead i guarentee it. The Mp5'er is a specialist weapon. The purpose its given by the makers of CS is just to have a weapon capable of getting something better. In many cases even pistols are better than the mp5.
The accuracy of the mp5. BAH. compared to earlier versions of CS the current degree of accuracy is rather horrible. Indeed most 5.56 weapons are more accurate, or provide alot more damage in a similar burst.
I think that the most important thing to keep in mind when you are using the Mp5 is that YOUR the weaker part, you'll have to outsmart the brash Assault rifle users out there, something which thankfully isn't impossible to do. Perhaps using an "easy to fragg with" AR bestows some sense of invulnerability? In any case "SKILL" with the mp5 remains to a very high degree of knowing your own limitations, and controlling your enemy. Something which newbs are not inclined to know.
So in short, for all your newbs out there. Stay away from this weapon. You should rather use the "hard" *snicker* to use weapon like the assault rifles, like the "veterans" who "own" servers. Leave the real fun to us old guys.
Is this Article or rather tactical advice wrong or poorly written? Not really, many of the things CS kind expressed is true. The thing is really that the article is just too short. I don't really know "CS king" neither have I ever played with him. By the sound of it he has spent some time with the mp5. But was it lazyness or lack of experience which cut this article so short? Normally its the latter, but in his case I'm not sure.

[TCT]Arctur, Sadly yes, which is why I don't reccomend newbies try, and thus get disapointed (in the long run) with the mp5.
[CCCP]Stalin, things like he said is what is lacking. The mp5 is not as much killing, as avoiding the shots fired at you from the enemy.
[CRS]GorTethNax-Nt, of all the people who have posted here I believe you are the only one who come even close to having "mastered" the mp5.
