UKTerrorist LAN 4 Predictions

The following article talks about a few of the "top" clans attending UKT4. Sorry I couldn't write about all clans, but I really can't see the top placings being decided out of anyone else apart from those talked about on this page. Hopefully a few clans will surprise us and finish higher than expected, but for the time being here's a insight into 6 of the clans who'll be at Northampton this weekend.

omg!

With the introduction of AnNuM and more recently TeppuM to the line-up, omg! are heading into UKT4 with their eyes set on nothing less than 1st place. While Bom, m0rph, DArtagnan, craig and vip are solid LAN players and know each others game well, people will perhaps be a little surprised that they chose to recruit TeppuM. I know many people who don't particularly rate TeppuM at all, but after playing alongside him at UKT3 I can safely say he's an awesome addition to the squad. His general skill, knowledge of the game and form on LAN will no doubt lead omg! to glory. Some people might argue that omg! haven’t had much chance to practice together with their UKT line-up much, but when you have 5 players the skill of those in omg!, I can't see it being a problem. For the record AnNuM is unable to attend this event, so omg! will be using it as experience more than anything, ahead of their trip to Euskal the following week.

Prediction - 1st - Can't see them getting beat.

Monkey Magic

After announcing their formation a while ago, UKT4 will be Monkey Magic's first competitive LAN together as a clan. In Vertakill, Sev and Stinky they have 3 quality players who beat the best during their time with dNC. In DArkor they have a guy who's amazing online, and the first thing he did after arriving late at UKT3 was to kill all 5 of the opposition in the pistol round. Rav0r has been around a while now, and has never really settled after being removed from erm, but again he's a solid player. Finally you have Smiffeh, who's had stints in iLLu, dNC in the opencup and as far as I'm aware he played for ui for a while. All I ever see him type in IRC is "pcw needed now msg me" so he's no doubt had Monkey Magic practicing loads in the build up to this event. MM also all met up in Ireland a few weeks back, so having got to know each other they'll probably feel more relaxed when they sit down for their first game Saturday. As I said earlier, with all the training these guys have gone through they'll be hoping to upset a few clans. If they come up against teams such as lastchance, Imminent or Disturbed I'd expect them to give each a hell of a game and who wins is anyone's bet.

Disturbed

After appearances for various clans at UKT3, Disturbed reformed with old members DoZ, Geordie, duck and wolfeh, and added Pallan and WaZ. Pallan was then removed and in came poog. Disturbed have always been a good LAN clan and in duck they have another of the UK's best players on show at this LAN. After solid performances at ukt2 for Xtra and ukt3 for Kirby, duck will be hoping for more pistol round extravaganza's to help Disturbed make it through to Sunday. Geordie is another solid LAN player, and alongside wolfeh and DoZ they'll no doubt be organised as they've been playing together for a while. In WaZ you have possibly erm's best player back in the day, and he'll no doubt want to rectify a poor showing for ui at ukt3 with success at this event. Finally, poog will probably take a game or 2 to warm-up properly but when he does nothing will get past him.

lastchance

lastchance have been quiet for a while now, only taking part in a few online leagues. They currently lead BWCSL Division 1 heading into the final week, and they recently finished 1st in CSGN's top division. After not taking part at UKT3 due to money problems, lastchance will hope for another solid LAN performance after finishing runners-up at UKT2. Since then emfive and sol left the clan for various reasons, and in came Black3y. Its taken a while for him to fit in, but as of late he's started showing the form required to compete with the best the UK has to offer, and will no doubt play a major role for lc at UKT4. Whenever anyone talks about lastchance, the names that come to mind are the brothers Arak and Stannly, and while being 2 of the best players in the UK, there's a lot more to lc than those 2. MadSpunk proved at ukt2 that he's a quality player, and then you have Song. Song is probably the most "unknown" player, so to speak, that lastchance have. But he's without a doubt one of the best players in the UK, always racking up the frags in each and every game. Being the youngest in the team its surprising how calm and reliable he can be in matches, and he's one of my tips for player of the tournament. lastchance have always worked extremely hard on tactics, and will without a doubt be one of the cleverer clans taking part this weekend.

Prediction - 2nd - Could possibly get pipped by any of the other 4 in this article.

Imminent

After attending all 3 of the previous UKT events as Xtra.uk, Imminent will be hoping to go a step further than ukt3 and perhaps finish top 3. Like Monkey Magic, I've noticed that they've been practicing a hell of a lot, and after stealing StoppA from agb who knows what they're capable of. They have strong players in the form of ZaG and Gilgamesh, one of the most under rated players in the UK in the form of Stu^, and AdY who is one hell of a player. StoppA has probably had enough time to learn iM's various tactics, and won't hinder their LAN performance like akuji did in the previous event (LOL ONLY JOKING :eeeee). Imminent have been pretty solid online, winning Savage's top division, and their preparation could be the deciding factor when they come up against clans like lc, monkey magic and disturbed.

Prediction - 5th - Could go either way, but like Disturbed they'll definitely finish top 5.

Uninspired

Player to watch out for - Any
Prediction - 1st - 28th

Summary

I can't see anyone beating omg! twice at ukt4, so I believe they'll win this event. The real battle is the one for 2nd place, my predictions could be turned around drastically between lc, iM, Dist, Monkey Magic and ui (providing they don’t crash and burn like last time). Either of those 5 could beat the other on their day so it may go down to what map they end up playing each other on. Hopefully fluid will put up a good show with w1cked and saph in their line-up, lets hope s7 can get results to match their ego, and maybe Kensai will win a game at this LAN.. Have fun at UKT4!
